First I like to brag that I used to do brain surgeries on fruit flies and have worked as an editor for an international law firm, because those positions made me feel I had some "status" I think. It felt like I mattered more then. But, second, really, I still matter, even though I just hang out in the Fediverse now and try to do what activist work I can manage from home, where I hide from commercial life as much as possible and depend on my spouse's support.This is my umpteenth account, because at first I didn't migrate when I switched instances. So I was at .social, then union.place, then autonomous.zone, for example. This is my second try on kolektiva, and I have a few accounts on other instances for experimental reasons too. In general, all you need to know about me is that I exist and want to work with every person I can to get us out of this autocratic, finance-capitalist nightmare hurtling into total ecological and social disaster. I think I have good ideas about how we will do that, but I struggle to get plans into writing that I'm brave enough to share. Please wish me luck with that. It might seem like we can't maintain a lot of connections or relationships, but I think that we are in connection and relationship no matter what. Making it explicit and intentional is a first step to better self-governance and self-organizing.There is not much we need more than our class solidarity and trust in each other's goodwill right now. It might be our revolution for peace can come more readily the more we see that we want for each according to their needs and from each according to their abilities. It is surely a horrific moment: the world is dominated by autocrats, deadly weapons, police, and militaries.
